Domus of Professor Michael York

Privacy & Cookies

This site is run by Professor Michael York for personal, non-commercial academic purposes. This page explains, in plain terms, the very little it does with any visitor's data.

Cookies

The site sets one cookie for every visitor: a session cookie (PHPSESSID) used purely to check whether you're logged in as the site editor. It carries no personal information, isn't used for tracking or analytics, and expires when you close your browser. As a strictly necessary cookie, it doesn't require your consent under UK data protection law, but it's disclosed here for transparency.

This site does not use any advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and does not use cookies to profile visitors or share data with advertisers.

Fonts

Page text is displayed using Google Fonts, loaded from Google's servers. Loading these fonts means your browser sends a request directly to Google, which will include your IP address and browser information, in the same way it would for any external resource on a webpage. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

What else the site collects

Nothing else. There are no visitor accounts, no comment forms, no newsletter sign-up and no analytics on this site. The only way to contact the site owner is by email, using the address given on the site; if you do, that email is used only to reply to you and isn't added to any list or shared with anyone else.

Your rights

Because this site processes so little personal data, there's very little to exercise rights over – but if you have any questions about this policy, or about any email correspondence you've had with the site, you can contact Michael York directly using the email address published on this site. If you're unhappy with how a concern has been handled, you also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
